Requesting mitigation, refund or waiver of demurrage and detention charges

If you believe a demurrage or detention invoice from Kestrel Lines is wrong, send a request to per-diem@kestrellines.example or call +1 510-555-0193.

Timeframes

Send your request within 30 calendar days of the invoice date. Kestrel Lines resolves each request within 30 calendar days of receiving it, or later if both parties agree.

What to include

• The invoice number, bill of lading number and container number.
• What you believe is wrong, and the amount you dispute.
• Records that support it: terminal availability records, gate and equipment interchange receipts (EIRs), appointment records, and your service contract or tariff reference.
